Client Work

Extinct was a roaming experience that combined technology, game and theatrical happenings that was bespokely created for Wales Millennium Centre’s Festival of Voice. The project explored how technology has enabled amazing advances in the ways in which we live, work and communicate but to what cost? The story was set in the not too distant future where technology had advanced to the point of being able to speak for us, identify our preferences and learn our patterns of behaviour.

Through a web app, participants were led around the city by our communication interface the ‘Alpha Omega (AO’). A product created by our in-world company Hybrid Industries. that promised to save you time by making appointments for you, buying your weekly shop and making the phone calls you didn’t want to make. As part of this auditory experience, participants met numerous characters and had tasks to complete along the way. Half way through they had to make a decision, whether to remain faithful to Hybrid Industries or join the resistance.

Aimed at a 18 – 25 age group, Extinct was a dark twist in a ‘what if’ scenario based on the increasing use of technology in our everyday lives, looking at our right to a voice Extinct explores the way we experience culture and our technological divide.
