Wellbeing of Future Generations Statement
The Wellbeing of Future Generations Statement
Although yello brick is not a public organisation bound by this act, we wish to publish a statement that reflects upon the act and our consideration of it within our work. We often work closely with public sector organisations and we take our responsibility towards the act seriously.
We believe that the work we do for both the public and private sector should take into consideration the impact of the wellbeing of future generations.
The Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act is about improving the social, economic, environmental and cultural well-being of Wales.
The Act gives a legally-binding common purpose – wellbeing goals for national government, local government, local health boards and other specified public bodies. It details the ways in which specified public bodies must work, and work together to improve the well-being of Wales.
It will make the public bodies listed in the Act think more about the long-term, work better with people and communities and each other, look to prevent problems and take a more joined-up approach.
This will help us to create a Wales that we all want to live in, now and in the future. To make sure we are all working towards the same vision, the Act puts in place seven well-being goals.
We must consider the impact of our work and when creating both digital and physical experiences and consider how they can be a tool to improve the wellbeing of all.
A Wales of Cohesive Communities
We believe in the power of play to bring people together through fun and shared purpose.
We exist to bring the playful to the world and bring people together in shared experiences.
A Healthier Wales
Many of our projects have had a wellbeing focus and we love creative work in this area. We see great opportunities to work with partners to support a healthier Wales. From active street games to wellbeing experiences we want to create work that supports this goal.
Art and experience are an excellent tool in improving wellbeing. At the core of what we do we believe in creating a more playful world and we believe that through play we can connect people in small and big ways that improve the economic, social, environmental and cultural well-being of Wales.
A Resilient & Prosperous Wales
yello brick has always had a business model of having a low number of employees and hiring in freelance creatives depending on the needs of particular projects. We will continue to work in this way and offer contract work to freelancers in the creative industry ensuring all contracts are union minimum as standard.
A Globally Responsible Wales
We have created a brand new Environmental Policy and we are committed to reducing our impact on the planet. This is reviewed each year and we will continue to promote this in our own work and in our work with clients.
A More Equal Wales
We have created an Equality and Diversity Policy which outlines our commitments and values.
Improved access in our outputs so that our projects are as accessible as they can be.
When creating work for clients we will ensure that conversations around accessibility are included as part of the creative process .
A Wales of Vibrant Culture and Thriving Welsh Language
We will continue to make playful and engaging work for the people of Wales and contribute to developing the vibrancy and variety of Welsh culture.
Creative client work will treat the Welsh language equally. We will ensure that creative work isn’t a direct translation but content in it’s own right.
Bilingual communications will be used in publicly funded projects.
